The Real 2-Piece: Fear vs. Faith

Honestly, I am not sure which is scarier- being fearful or having no fear. We all experience it. That negative voice, echoing in the back of our minds saying 'don't,' 'not yet,' 'just wait a little longer,' 'not until it is perfect.' That voice of fear prevents you, all of us, from truly living to our full potential. Fear deters putting action towards those dreams we had years ago and unfortunately, creates an effect of preventing those around us to take flight to their purpose in life because we can sometimes unintentionally dispose our own fears onto others. Have you ever seen a barrel of live crabs? As one tries its best to escape, ready to venture into the unknown, the others will pull him/her back.

Fear deters putting action towards those dreams we had years ago...

Graciously, I have always been known to be confident and courageous, but like I said, fear happens to us all. It wasn't until the end of 2019 I realized that I had spent the past few years in fear. Fear of the unknown. I had begun to find comfort in placing myself in situations in which I knew what the outcome would be and where I would control the result. But, life begins outside of one's comfort zone.

Fear lives in the future and truly enjoying life means living in the present. All it takes to overcome fear is learning how to become comfortable in the unknown and comfort can quickly be received through faith. Going into 2020 I had made the decision to say 'I will do it. God has always protected me and always will.' As a result, a year that inflicted much turmoil to many, I found great blessings and delight as I had made the commitment early on to live life with faith tightly intertwined.

Proverbs 3: 5-6 Trust in God with all your heart. And do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him. And he will make your paths straight.

Now, about the fashion! Can you believe Wal-Mart had this sage, 2-piece of perfection? Paired with a matching bandana from my favorite go-to shopping destination, Target, I was ready to enjoy the sunrays provided in Goodyear, Arizona poolside.
